Who Is Henry Olyphant? Biography and Early Life

Henry Olyphant was born in the United States in 2001. He is the middle child and only son of actor Timothy Olyphant and Alexis Knief. Henry grew up in Los Angeles, California, where his family maintained a relatively private life despite his father’s successful acting career.

During his childhood, Henry enjoyed ordinary activities such as playing sports, spending time with family, and exploring creative interests. His parents encouraged their children to develop their own talents rather than follow careers in entertainment simply because of their father’s popularity.

Henry developed an interest in art at a young age. In 2013, he began attending Brentwood Art Center, where he explored different artistic techniques. These early experiences helped him develop the skills and confidence that later influenced his educational choices.

He is also known by the nickname Hank Olyphant. This name appears in his professional artist biography and was used by his younger sister Vivian when she credited him for creating artwork for her music.

Henry Olyphant Age, Birthday, Height and Nationality

Henry holds American nationality and spent much of his childhood in California. Although his upbringing in Los Angeles is well known, his exact birthplace has not been reliably documented.

Information about Henry Olyphant’s height and weight is also unavailable through dependable public sources. Unlike Hollywood actors and professional models, he has not shared detailed physical measurements publicly.

His ethnicity and religious beliefs have not been independently confirmed. Therefore, making definite claims about these personal details would be misleading.

Henry maintains a relatively low public profile, and only limited photographs and personal information are available. Most publicly documented facts about him concern his family, education, and artistic profession rather than his appearance or lifestyle.

Henry Olyphant Parents: Timothy Olyphant and Alexis Knief

Henry Olyphant comes from a well-known American family. His father, Timothy Olyphant, is a successful actor recognized for his performances in popular television series and Hollywood films.

Timothy Olyphant was born on May 20, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He became widely recognized for portraying Seth Bullock in Deadwood and Raylan Givens in Justified. His acting career also includes appearances in Scream 2, The Crazies, and Santa Clarita Diet.

Despite his demanding career, Timothy has frequently emphasized the importance of spending time with his family. He has spoken publicly about attending his children’s school activities and supporting their individual interests.

Henry’s mother, Alexis Knief, prefers to remain outside the entertainment spotlight. She met Timothy while they were studying at the University of Southern California. They married in 1991 and subsequently welcomed three children.

Alexis has largely maintained her privacy while supporting her family. This approach has helped Henry and his sisters experience a relatively normal upbringing despite their father’s celebrity status.

Henry’s parents have therefore played an important role in providing an environment where he could develop his artistic interests independently.

Henry Olyphant Siblings: Grace and Vivian Olyphant

Henry Olyphant has two siblings, Grace Olyphant and Vivian Olyphant. Although all three children share the same family background, they have developed different professional interests.

Grace Olyphant, born in 1999, is Henry’s older sister. She was involved in competitive tennis during her younger years and later attended California Polytechnic State University. Grace subsequently developed an interest in fashion, styling, and clothing-related work.

Vivian Olyphant, born in 2003, is Henry’s younger sister. She has followed a career more closely connected to their father’s entertainment background. Vivian appeared alongside Timothy Olyphant in Justified: City Primeval, portraying Willa Givens, the fictional daughter of his character Raylan Givens.

Vivian is also interested in music and songwriting. In 2023, she released her debut single, Lil More Reason, and publicly thanked her brother Hank for designing its cover artwork.

This collaboration demonstrated Henry’s artistic skills while showing how the siblings support each other’s creative activities.

Together, Grace, Henry, and Vivian represent different professional interests within the same family, including fashion, visual art, music, and acting.

Henry Olyphant Education and Parsons School of Design

Henry Olyphant’s education has played an important role in his development as an artist. His interest in creative activities began during childhood when he attended art classes at Brentwood Art Center in 2013.

The center provided opportunities for young students to develop drawing, painting, ceramics, and other artistic skills. Henry’s early experience there became an important foundation for his later professional ambitions.

After completing his earlier education, Henry attended Parsons School of Design, which is part of The New School in New York City. Parsons is recognized for its programs in art, fashion, design, and creative education.

Henry earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking in 2023. Printmaking involves creating artistic images through techniques that transfer designs onto paper or other materials.

His academic experience also helped him explore illustration and ceramics, expanding his ability to work with different artistic styles and materials.

After graduating, Henry returned to Brentwood Art Center as an instructor. This was a meaningful achievement because he began his artistic education at the same institution approximately ten years earlier.

His educational journey reflects a strong commitment to developing practical artistic skills and sharing creative knowledge with others.

Henry Olyphant Career: Artist, Artwork and Art Instructor

Unlike his father, Henry Olyphant has not established a professional acting career. Another son of a famous actor who chose a different path is Jasper Breckenridge Johnson, who played basketball at school. Instead, he has focused on visual art, including printmaking, illustration, ceramics, and mixed-media projects.

His professional biography at Brentwood Art Center identifies him as Hank Olyphant, a Los Angeles-based artist interested in exploring the human form through different artistic techniques.

Henry’s background in printmaking allows him to create artwork using specialized processes, while his experience in illustration supports projects involving drawing and visual communication.

Ceramics is another area connected to his artistic practice. This discipline involves shaping clay and creating three-dimensional objects through different production techniques.

As an instructor at Brentwood Art Center, Henry helps students develop their creative abilities. His teaching approach encourages learners to explore artistic techniques and communicate their personal stories through artwork.

One important part of his professional activities involves the Veterans Art Program. This initiative provides art education for military veterans and offers opportunities for creative expression.

According to Brentwood Art Center, Henry and fellow instructor David McDonald delivered more than 286 combined hours of instruction during 2025, reaching approximately 670 students through activities at the Westwood Veterans Affairs facility.

The art center also operates the Julian Choji New Scholarship Award, which supports young artists. However, there is no confirmed evidence that Henry personally received this scholarship.

These professional activities demonstrate that Henry’s career involves both producing art and supporting community education.

Henry Olyphant Movies, TV Shows and Vivian’s Song Artwork

Many people wonder whether Henry Olyphant is an actor because his father has appeared in numerous successful movies and television shows. However, there is no reliable professional filmography confirming that Henry has worked as an actor.

His father Timothy is famous for Deadwood, Justified, and several other productions, while his younger sister Vivian has already appeared on television.

Henry has chosen a different creative direction and concentrates primarily on visual art.

One of his publicly documented artistic contributions was creating the cover artwork for Vivian Olyphant’s debut song, Lil More Reason, released in 2023.

Vivian acknowledged her brother Hank for his contribution when promoting the song. This recognition introduced his creative work to a wider audience.

Designing music cover artwork requires visual creativity and an understanding of how images communicate the mood and identity of a song.

Although Henry’s complete artwork portfolio is not widely available, this project offers an example of his professional abilities.

His career demonstrates that members of a famous entertainment family can develop their own interests without pursuing acting or television appearances.

His relatively private lifestyle allows him to concentrate on professional development without the constant publicity experienced by his father.

Henry Olyphant Net Worth, Income and Life in 2026

Henry Olyphant’s exact net worth is unknown because reliable financial records about his personal assets and earnings are not publicly available.

As of 2026, Henry’s publicly documented professional background remains connected to art and education. Brentwood Art Center’s published information identifies him as an instructor and describes his involvement in creative learning programs.

His career reflects an independent approach to professional success. Rather than relying entirely on public recognition associated with his family name, he has pursued formal education and practical experience.
